How to Make Italian Fried Chicken

"Simply Delicious!" is what you'll hear when you serve up this robust flavored chicken! You'll need to marinade chicken overnight to capture full flavor, so make sure to plan ahead! This chicken is terrific for dinner or cook the night before and you'll have an outstanding, finger-licking picnic item! The side dishes you can serve up with this are countless so let your creativity flow to make this a "must have" on your family menu!

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • 2 pounds of chicken
  • Bottle of Italian salad dressing
  • 2 cups read crumbs
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 package of dry onion soup mix
  • Large plastic bowl with lid
  • Large skillet for frying
  • Oil for frying

Step1
After rinsing chicken, use a fork and poke the chicken pieces to allow marinate to soak into meat
Step2
Place chicken into large plastic bowl with tight fitting lid and add bottle of Italian salad dressing
Step3
Refrigerate and shake every 2-4 hours to coat chicken pieces
Step4
After chicken has marinated 12-24 hours, drain dressing from bowl, set aside and in another bowl combine breadcrumbs, flour and dry soup mixing ingredients well
Step5
Pour oil in skillet, at least 3-4 inches and heat to 375 degrees
Step6
Place chicken pieces in breadcrumb mixture and coat well
Step7
Place chicken in skillet and cook approximately 12 minutes a side or until juices run clear when cut
Step8
Remove chicken from skillet and place on paper towel lined dish to absorb left over oil
