Set a time for you to go to bed. Make it an everyday thing. It will trane your body and make it a habbit.
Step2
Avoid eating, drinking, smoking, and consuming alcohol before bedtime. They can cause sleep problems and may just keep you up.
Step3
The more you move in your day the better. Exorcise is the best way to ensure that you are tired when the time comes.
Step4
Make the area you sleep in cool and dark. If you are a third shifter throw some blankets over those windows and get some zzzz's.
Step5
Make shure that your bed and matress are in your comfort zone. No lumps, bumps, or crumbs. Try changing your sheets often.
Step6
Find that thing that puts you to sleep. Reading, taking a shower, listening to music, or just sitting and relaxing in the quite. Start this about thrity minutes before bedtime.
Step7
When you hit the sack make sure you are tired or you could lay awake a while. If you go to bed and your are still awake after 20 minutes get up and repeat last step.
Step8
If none of this works the only thing left is sleeping pills in witch I know nothing about. You may want to talk to your doctor.

on 2/26/2008 Good tips. I think I've tried them all but I still get insomnia. I guess it's an age thing. I never used to have problems sleeping.
