Possibly the biggest error we make to gratify our emotional hunger is through stomach. To top it all most of us choose to have a sweet bite. An interception of happiness and sadness drags us towards this vital spicy, salty, tangy or sweet treats. We hog ourselves till the time; not just our hunger, but our emotions are content. In days of depression and negatives we crave all the more to eat, building in pounds after pounds and not thinking about its consequences. Scientific studies show that whenever we are under extreme emotions, whether it is pleasure or pain, we tend to crave for comfort foods which might not be a healthy choice. This vicious cycle never ends. To heave oneself out of these ardent eating habits some of these tips will be positively aiding.

Step1
• Recognize emotional hunger

Whenever we are drawing towards emotional eating generally it is instantaneous. We want to eat something immediately and crave for eating whatever is in our mind at that time. Emotional eating does not stop even if our stomach is full. Emotional eating mostly pulls us towards a specific food not letting our brain, make choices. We need to recognize these symptoms and not get entangled in this unwanted web of uncontrollably eating disorder.
Step2
• Choose small meals every four hours

Discipline is the key to healthy eating choices. If we will discipline our body to eat small meals every four hours, it will let us avoid having a hunger attack and stop us from eating more than we want to. So even if we will have an emotional eating syndrome in between; our full stomach will at least flag us from recognizing these false alarms
Step3
• Suppress the root cause

When we are buying our weekly groceries, we should stop ourselves from purchasing food that will give us the choice to eat unhealthy when we have an emotional eating bout. If we would not have toxic food items around us, it will bring us a step back from reaching to unhealthy food within an arms length.

• Handle Sweet Tooth

If we are a major dessert eater, with a sweet tooth, then the best way is to go for low fat and sugar free desserts as an option; this will please our desire to eat sweets and also prevent us from eating more.

• Avoid using food as a reward or punishment

Many people use food as a reward to oneself or others. We should find alternative ways of treating ourselves or others, rather than food, which amplifies us to walk towards emotional eating.
