Get Inspired to Write
Get Inspired to Write

Every writer suffers from writer's block sometime or another. With these tips you'll be writing in no time with no time for writer's block!

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • pen
  • paper
  • open mind
  1. Step 1

Go to the park or mall or any place filled with people. Just watch them and what they do. Try to make up a story for them. What you think they do when they leave or what did they buy. If you can overhear a conversation this will help you even more. Just take the information given to you and elaborate on it.

  2. Step 2

Never sit and wait for an idea to come to you. This wastes too much time and is too boring. Instead try free writing. Just pick a random subject and write about it nonstop for two minutes. Don't think about grammar, just write whatever comes to your mind. This may start an idea once you read over it.

  3. Step 3
You'll be amazed at how the carzy things you can associate together.

You'll be amazed at how the carzy things you can associate together.

Here's an easy game to play. think of a thing or object. Like car than associate something with car , than associate something with that thing and so on. You'll be surprised at how far you can get with this. Here is an example car > drive > road > cement > statue > the thinker.

  4. Step 4

Find things you have never finished in the past. You may reread them and get a rush of ideas. You may have an idea to finish the story, or start a new story altogether. Either way this is pretty useful.

  5. Step 5

Make an "if" list. Think of a couple really bad situations that you could get yourself into and how you would resolve the problem or if you couldn't. Try to write a couple pages worth to get your writing flowing. On the plus side readers always love a little drama, think "I Love Lucy".

Tips & Warnings
  • Carry around a notebook to record any ideas or any thing you think is cool, or you may have a notebook built into your cell phone you can use.
  • Always watch what is going on around you some of the best stories are real life.
  • NEVER plagiarize. You don't want someone stealing your ideas and putting their name on it. Plus you can get into legal trouble and lose all credibility as a writer.
  • When writing take breaks often. The screen can hurt your eyes and your hands can start to hut also.
