Things You'll Need:
- Six milk jugs
- Hole punch
- 3/4" hooks
- Dowel
- Sandpaper
-
Step 1
Soak the jug for about 15 minutes in hot, soapy water to get the labels off easily.
-
Step 2
Cut out the jug’s top, bottom and handle with scissors, so that you are left with a flat piece of plastic.
-
Step 3
It'll be about six milk jugs for a window about 2 x 2. Double or triple the milk jugs for larger windows. Make a template for the triangle shape out of card stock. Make them any size you want from 1 1/2 inches to 3 inches. Then cut the triangles out of the milk jug with the template as a guide.
-
Step 4
SandpaperTake a little sandpaper and rough up the surface of the plastic triangles. This will help them diffuse the light almost like rice paper.
-
Step 5
Hole PunchThen take your hole punch and pierce the plastic triangle at the top and at the bottom. Remember to not put a hole on the bottom of the last piece.
-
Step 6
S HookString the triangles together to the length of your window. You can use 3/4 inch hooks. The edge of the plastic will just be able to fit in where
the “S” doesn’t close completely. For the first triangle at the top use a larger S hook and slide it onto a small dowel that will be the length of your window or area that you want to hand it.
