Tailgating before any sporting event can be a great time. However, it is important to know how to tailgate at the specific location you are at. Many stadiums and cities have different rules, regulations and laws when it comes to tailgating. Here is how you can tailgate at Shea Stadium.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Plan your tailgate for a weekend game that is in the evening. This will ensure that more people will attend your tailgate. It will also give you the entire afternoon to enjoy your tailgate before you enter Shea Stadium.

  2. Step 2

Arrive at the Shea Stadium parking lot in the early afternoon. This will allow you to get the best possible spot for your tailgate. It also gives you more time to enjoy your tailgate.

  3. Step 3

Do not bring a grill. Open flames are not permitted in Shea Stadium parking lots, even for a tailgate.

  4. Step 4

Bring prepared food to Shea. Since you cannot bring a grill to Shea either cook or pick up food.

  5. Step 5

Bring garbage bags. Your tailgate will be left alone by security and the police if you keep your tailgate clean. Make sure to dispose of all garbage before entering Shea Stadium.

  6. Step 6

If you bring alcoholic beverages be sure to bring either red or blue plastic cups. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted in the parking lots at Shea Stadium. However, as long as you are 21 years of age or older and are drinking from either a red or blue plastic cup you will be alright. Do not allow anybody under the age of 21 to consume alcohol at your tailgate.
