Step 1
Find out how many seasons the keeper league will go on for. Most fantasy baseball keeper leagues have a limit as to how many seasons they will last. Knowing this will help you determine how you should put your roster together.
-
Step 2
Find out how many prizes will be awarded. Some fantasy baseball keeper leagues have a prize awarded to the winner of every season while some only award one prize to the overall winner of the keeper league
-
Step 3
Read scouting reports. Know who the hot prospects are for every team. Know when these prospects may get the call to play in the Major Leagues. Knowing this will give you an advantage in your keeper league.
-
Step 4
Know the recent transactions. Due to the length of the Major League Baseball season, transactions take place more often in baseball than in any other sports. Knowing these moves before your opponents do will give you an advantage in your keeper league.
-
Step 5
Have a good mix of youth and experience on your roster. A common mistake owners make in a fantasy baseball keeper league is having too many inexperienced players on their team. It’s important to have younger players on your roster in a keeper league as that will give you an advantage in later years. However, it’s unwise to have too many younger players as that will hurt you in the current season.

Step 6
Remember the basics of fantasy baseball. Even though you’re involved in a keeper league remember that you are still playing fantasy baseball. The scoring will work the exact same way so it’s wise to have an assortment of both talented pitchers and hitters
