Food blogging is a great way to share recipes with friends and family, talk about your favorite (or not so favorite) restaurants, and share your culinary creations with the world. Don't worry if you don't know anything about website design, starting your own food blog is far easier than you may think.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A Digital Camera
  • A Computer With Internet Access
  1. Step 1

Decide what kind of food blog you will create. Do you love to critique restaurants? Are you an avid home chef with original recipes? Perhaps you enjoy recreating the recipes seen on your favorite cooking shows. Decide what your food blog will focus on, or create a combination of ideas that works for you.

  2. Step 2

Select a blogging platform. The most popular ones are Wordpress and Blogger. These sites will offer you easy to use templates that make the design of your food blog a breeze.

  3. Step 3

Select a food blog title that will attract readers, and sums up what your food blog is all about. "Adam's Healthy Cooking" is much more appealing to readers than "Adam's Food Blog."

  4. Step 4

Readers love photographs! Make sure to accompany your food blog posts with plenty of visuals of your own cooking, or the dishes at restaurant's you are visiting. You could even post videos of yourself preparing your favorite meals.

  5. Step 5

Now find some readers! Leave comments on your favorite food blogs, along with your blog's web address. Forward your blog to friends and family. Mention your favorite food blogs on your blog so other blog authors will reciprocate.

Tips & Warnings
  • Create a niche food blog idea that stands out from the pack. You could specialize in the recipes of a specific region or a popular diet.
  • Post post post! The more new content you add to your blog, the more readers you will attract. Aim for a minimum of one post per week.
  • Nobody likes a copycat. Make sure to give credit where credit is due when posting other people's recipes or photographs.
