For many, mosquitoes are the most detestable of all flying insect. Like a phantom, the pesky bloodsuckers appear out of nowhere, clinging to your arm, your leg, your face, ripping the life from you. But it's the bite, not the blood, that's so bothersome. It lingers, it itches. It sucks. Here's how to keep those little buggers away ... the same way you keep your clothes soft.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Dryer sheet/fabric softener
  • A pocket
  1. Step 1

Buy a strong-smelling fabric softener (or dryer sheet, if that's what you prefer calling it). Something with the words "spring," "mist" or "breeze" in the descriptor are probably best.

  2. Step 2

During mosquito season, place the fabric softener in your pocket before you leave the house. Mosquitoes are turned away by the strong scent.

  3. Step 3

Throw away your bug spray, and bask in the glow of your bite-free body.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you're out and about all day, it might be a good idea to replace the dryer sheet after six hours or so.
  • Don't use bug spray, as well. The scent of the spray will overpower the scent of the softener. The result will ultimately be the same as using bug spray alone.
  • Don't use liquid fabric softener. That's messy.
