How to Make Shell Candle Stands thumbnail
Turn an empty wine bottle into a seashell candle stand.

Make a set of beach-themed candle stands by recycling materials that you already have at your house. Completing this project may take a little time, as you will need to collect at least one empty wine bottle and enough seashells to cover it. Make this a beach night activity with your children the next time you visit the beach.

Things You'll Need

  • Empty wine bottle
  • Glue gun sticks
  • Glue gun
  • Seashells
  • Funnel
  • Sand
  • Skinny candle

Instructions

    • 1

      Wash out an empty wine bottle with warm soapy water. Remove the label as best you can. Allow the bottle to dry completely.

      Insert a glue gun stick into the back of your glue gun and plug the gun into a power outlet. Let the glue in the gun warm up.

      Squeeze dollops of glue onto the backs of seashells one at a time and press them around the bottle. Cover the entire base of the bottle and leave the neck of the wine bottle free so that the glass is exposed.

      Place a funnel in the top of the bottle and pour sand into it until it reaches the neck. Place a skinny candle in the top of the bottle.
