There are some things in life that are meant to go together. Peanut butter and jelly. Christmas and snow. Thanksgiving and football. Many football fans miss NFL action on Thanksgiving Day due to getting together with family. Here are some tips to make sure that won’t happen to you.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate
Step1
Invite everybody over before kickoff of the first game. This way the people that want to watch football on Thanksgiving Day won’t have to worry about missing any of the action. Those who don’t want to watch football can mingle with one another.
Step2
Serve appetizers during the first half of game one. People want to eat on Thanksgiving. Have a few trays of snacks floating around while people are watching football. Avoid serving too many snacks as you want to make sure that everybody still has room for Thanksgiving dinner.
Step3
Serve Thanksgiving dinner during halftime of the first game. This will make sure that people can still watch the fourth quarter of game one. It will also keep people from leaving the table to get updates during the game.
Step4
Serve Thanksgiving dinner in a room without a TV. Doing so will allow the people at the table to talk with one another without being interrupted by the game. It will also keep the people who aren’t big football fans very happy.
Step5
Serve dessert during the fourth quarter. Allow those who want to watch football to do so. Dessert can easily be served in both the room that has the football game and the room that does not. Those who don’t want to watch football can eat dessert at the table. Those who wish to watch the game can hold a plate or bowl while watching the game.
Step6
Put out snacks at the start of the second game. If you want people to stay at your place during the second football game than put out a few trays of snacks again. You won’t need anymore than what you had for appetizers as most of the people there will be full from Thanksgiving dinner.
Step7
Serve turkey sandwiches during halftime of game two. This is a nice snack for those who want to stay and watch the rest of the football game. It’s also a great way to get rid of the leftover turkey from Thanksgiving dinner.
