One Amp

Step1

First you need to learn the basics. You need to learn how to tun a bass guitar. I just tune the E (lowest sounding string) to how I like it, then I
make sure the other stings are in tune. To make them in tune you need to make sure the next string sounds like the last string on the fifth fret.

Step2

Then here comes the hard part, this could take a few years. All you need to do is practice playing one note as fast as you can and also learn a few easy songs like Seven Nation Army by white stripes or smoke on the water by Deep Purple.

Step3

After that you can go to some websites that will tell you the frets to play on certain songs and just keep practicing. Some websites can be; http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/ or http://www.thetabworld.com/ I use Ultimate Guitar more.

Tips & Warnings

Learn other instuments to for example an acoustic guitar so when ever your on a long trip you don't have to carry your bass and amp around.
Careful when re-stringing broken strings.
