How to Build a Drip Irrigation System

A drip irrigation system can be made very easily. This How-To is How to Build a cheap drip irrigation system.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1/2 inch PVC pipe
  • PVC pipe glue
  • threaded PVC fitting
  • PVC cap
  • Drill/electric screw driver
  • 1/8 inch drill bit
  • water hose
  1. Step 1

    The first thing you need is a length of 1/2 inch PVC pipe. glue the PVC cap onto one end of the pipe and let dry. These can be bought at any hardware store.

  2. Step 2

    On the other end glue on the threaded fitting. You will want a female fitting so you can screw the male end of your water hose into it.

  3. Step 3

    take the drill and drill bit and drill small holes into your pipe. One hole about every 10 - 12 inches should work well.

  4. Step 4

    You have your cheap, home made drip irrigation system. All you have to do is screw in your water hose and turn it on.

  5. Step 5

    You can make one for each of your flower beds and bury it underground, or just use one and move it to where ever you need it.

Tips & Warnings
  • don't put your drill holes to close together
