Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- Books about knitting
- Sufficient storage space
Step1
Choose different books about knitting. They should all be ones you enjoy reading. A well-stocked knitter's library will contain books in several different categories.
Step2
Choose pattern books, which contain patterns you'll either want to knit over and over, or a large number of patterns you want to try. It's not efficient to buy a book for one pattern, but perhaps there are other things about the book that make it worth buying.
Step3
Choose technical books. The best ones contain clear illustrations or photographs to show steps. You'll refer to these often until you're a pro, so it's best to pick books that have a wealth of information in this area. These books should have basic information such as how to cast on and bind off, as well how to fix mistakes, how to choose yarn for different projects and how to make cables.
Step4
Choose leisure books. If you love to simply read about knitting, add some books that talk about the craft or the people who love to do it. These can be fiction or non-fiction. They can have many photographs or none.
Step5
Choose magazines. If you buy the same knitting magazines over and over, it's best (and economical) to get a subscription. You'll enjoy the convenience of finding them in your mailbox whenever a new issue comes out.
Step6
Add books to your designated area, whether it's a tall bookcase or a large plastic bin. Figure out how you want this space arranged. You can arrange your books alphabetically or by category. Do it in a way that makes it easy for you to find the book you want.
