So Simple yet Beautiful!
So Simple yet Beautiful!

This is a simple boutonniere you can make the night before or the morning of the wedding. You can also make them for anniversaries, prom, homecoming and any other formal event!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • one perfect flower
  • floral wire
  • small piece of greenery
  • florist tape
  • pencil
  • ribbon
  • corsage pin
  1. Step 1

Pick out one perfect flower, or a couple if they are really small. (if the flower is too large it will look like a corsage)

  2. Step 2

Cut Stems to 1 1/2 inches long then wrap wire around the flower around the green stem and cut to 2 inches. So the wire becomes an extension of the stem.

  3. Step 3

Use green floral tape to cover the stem and wire.

  4. Step 4

Place the flower on top of a leaf or other small greenery, with the stems lined up.

  5. Step 5

Wrap the two stems together using floral tape.

  6. Step 6

Curl the end of the wire (covered in green floral tape) around with a pencil.

  7. Step 7

    May add ribbon to decorate.

  8. Step 8

Fasten the boutonniere to a man's left lapel using a corsage pin.

Tips & Warnings
  • you can make these the night before or morning of the event.
  • store in cool place like a refrigerator
  • mist with spray bottle
  • do not over spray or water will leave water spots on petals.
  • avoid handling the flower petals to avoid wilting.

on 1/21/2008 We made these for my daughter's wedding the night before and they turned out lovely. Everyone thought they were done by a florist!
