See a play or reenactment. Every February, different performing groups in Atlanta remember African Americans' achievements and hardships. Although the exact times, prices and events change every year, the celebration plans are listed about a week before February in Atlanta's main newspaper, "The Atlanta Journal-Constitution."

Go to the birthplace of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. King and his wife, Loretta Scott King, were the cornerstones of the Civil Rights movements in the 1960s and beyond. You can learn more about their lives and work by visiting Dr. King's grandparents' house, where he was born.
