See a play or reenactment. Every February, different performing groups in Atlanta remember African Americans' achievements and hardships. Although the exact times, prices and events change every year, the celebration plans are listed about a week before February in Atlanta's main newspaper, "The Atlanta Journal-Constitution."

Go to the birthplace of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. King and his wife, Loretta Scott King, were the cornerstones of the Civil Rights movements in the 1960s and beyond. You can learn more about their lives and work by visiting Dr. King's grandparents' house, where he was born.

Visit The King Center, which is devoted to the work and lives of Dr. King and Loretta Scott King. The center is found in the Sweet Auburn neighborhood in Atlanta.
