How to Crop Photos

You are looking at a photo of your precious two-year-old sliding down the slide by herself for the first time when you notice that another child has walked into the bottom of the shot. What do you do? Well, remove the stranger child of course. Read on and happy cropping!

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • Photos
  • Decorative edged scissors
  • Regular scissors
  • Corner rounder
  • Circle, oval, heart or geometric templates and cutters
  • Paper trimmer
Step1
Select the photos that you need to crop for the scrapbook page that you are working on.
Step2
Decide how much of the photo needs to be removed if any.
Step3
Remove only unnecessary items from the photographs. If the photographs has items that hold historical significance then do not remove them. They will help tell the story in later years.
Step4
Choose what shape you want the photo to be.
Step5
Using a circle, oval, heart or geometric cutter, cut the shape or use your paper trimmer to trim off the edges of the photograph that you do not want on it.
Step6
Remove the square, harsh corners with a corner rounder or a corner punch. Or you can use decorative scissors to cut around the edges of the photograph to give it a classy or fun finished look.
Step7
Repeat these steps for each photograph that you want to crop.
