Creating your first scrapbook page a snap if you have the right materials and a knack for organization. Think of this as more than just another craft project. You'll be producing a keepsake.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Things You’ll Need:

  • Photographs
  • Acid free photo mounting paper
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Acid-free permanent pens or markers
  • Acid-free mounting tape

Step1
Pick a theme for your page, such as Halloween or a birthday party.
Step2
Choose the photos you want to include on your first page. Do not choose more than 5 pictures.
Step3
Crop the photos. This can be done as easily as just rounding the corners on your photo with scissors.
Step4
Lay out your pictures on the bare page to see how they look.
Step5
When you have your photos where you want them, trace the outlines of the pictures with a pencil.
Step6
Set aside the photos and pick a background color for the mounting paper that will accent your photos.
Step7
Cut 2 triangles out of your mounting paper. Put those triangles in opposite corners of your page, one at the top and one at the bottom. Adhere the triangles with acid-free mounting tape.
Step8
Place your photos in the traced areas, adhering them with acid free mounting tape.
Step9
Begin journaling. Add a title, including the event and the date, to your page. Then add important notes around the pictures, such as the names of the subjects, where the photos were taken and how you were feeling at the time.
Step10
Add embellishments to the page, such as acid free die cuts and stickers.
Step11
Slip a page protector over the page.
