Apple's iTunes makes transferring songs onto your computer easy. With a click of the mouse, your favorite song will appear on the iTunes screen, ready for listening at your desk or future transfer to your iPod.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Find the song you want to add to your iTunes account. Transfer the song from CD to your "My Music" folder or any folder you specify. Download the song you want from a website, and it will automatically go the folder.

  2. Step 2

Locate the song in your folder and highlight it. Open iTunes and choose "File" from the drop-down menus. Click "Export." The folder information will appear in a separate box. Choose your song from the folder.

  3. Step 3

Hit "Open" so the song name appears in the file name window. Then once again choose "Open," and the song will automatically transfer to iTunes.

  4. Step 4

Check the location of the song on your iTunes screen. If you want to transfer the song to a different playlist or use it to start another list, select "New Playlist" or "New Smart Playlist" from the file drop-down menu.

  5. Step 5

Repeat the above steps for every song you want to add to iTunes. If necessary, rename the file before transferring.
