How to Buy Role Playing Weapons

In live role playing, the weapons are as various as the characters. Your weapon gives you power, tells others about your character and, in essence, helps to define who you are. On your virtual battlefield or dungeon, you need to be prepared for the adventure you are about to face, which means you will probably need some sort of a weapon.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy
Step1
Think about the character you've chosen. Whether you are a mage, a knight, an elf, or what have you, your character, to a large degree, governs the weapon you should choose. For instance, a wizard should equip himself with a staff, and a valkyrie would probably carry a sword of some sort.
Step2
Choose your weapon accordingly once you have chosen your character. Of course, your character needn't choose a weapon strictly by what a character is supposed to use. Perhaps your character is a rogue of sorts. Certainly there must be a mage somewhere who happens to carry a battle-axe, or a dwarf who casts spells. Just as in real life, role playing characters do not have to adhere to stereotypes.
Step3
Explore your options. There are many choices available to you when choosing a role playing weapon to purchase. Your town may have a sword store or a costume shop that will cater to your needs. It helps to see actual weapons in person before choosing one, as there are many styles and qualities. Don't forget to look online at various role playing outfitters, as well. Use a search engine to find distributors.
Step4
Compare prices. If you found what appears to be the perfect weapon for your character, don't forget to shop around. You may be able to find the same item or something similar for a better price if you just take the time to look. Keep in mind that buying online may mean paying a shipping cost.
Step5
Make your own weapon if you can't find exactly what you are looking for. This allows you to be creative, and personalize your weapon to your character.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you are a collector, don't skimp on quality. You will want one that looks just as good on display as it does in action.
  • Weapons are not toys. They can still harm someone in real life. Always be cautious when role playing with weapons, so as not to injure yourself or others.
