New York is one of the most storied cities in America. Woven deeply in that historical tapestry is New York City's great sports history. A sports tour of New York is a must for any visitor to the city. A sports tour of New York is a step back in time when sports were simpler and fans attended the games in suits and ties and their best Sunday dresses.

  1. Step 1

    Decide the type of tour to take. New York has tour companies that will take a person around the city to see the great sport sites. There is also the option of taking the tour as an individual. Simply find a map and off you go.

  2. Step 2

    Visit Yankee stadium. The most historic stadium in baseball is a shrine to America's pastime. The stadium conducts tours on a daily basis with the exception of playoff time in Major League Baseball.

  3. Step 3

    Make it a point to see perhaps the most famous sports arena in America, Madison Square Garden. This arena has been host to NBA championships, NHL finals, and a plethora of other historic sporting events.

  4. Step 4

    Be sure to visit Flushing Meadow Corona Park. It is a hidden gem of a park and home to the U.S. Open tennis tournament.

  5. Step 5

    See the legendary Rucker Park basketball court. Some of the greatest basketball players in the world got their start on the humble Rucker Park court. In addition, Rucker to this day holds legendary basketball battles.

  6. Step 6

    Stop by the Chelsea Piers if the tour needs some actual sports activity. Chelsea Piers is a 30-acre sports complex that houses basketball, jogging, racquetball, kayaking, golf, swimming facilities and much more.
