Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Check your cable subscription status. You must be signed up for a digital cable service that provides you with a digital cable box. Find out if your cable provider features On-Demand.
Step2
Go to your On-Demand channel or push your remote menu button to get to a program guide. The guide shows you the entire library of programs and movies currently available from your cable provider.
Step3
Choose what you want to watch within the next 24 hours.
Step4
Understand that some programs are free; others have a viewing charge that you'll see on your next cable bill.
Step5
Benefit from your subscription of premium channels like HBO, Cinemax, Starz and Showtime. These premium giants have On-Demand programs for premium subscribers, usually at no extra cost.
Step6
Push a button on your digital cable remote when you're ready to start the show.
Step7
Watch On-Demand programs in the same way your watch movies on a VCR or DVR. Pause to get a snack. Rewind to see a scene again. Fast forward through the opening credits.
Step8
Don't confuse On-Demand with pay-per-view. With On-Demand, you determine your start time. The cable company determines pay-per-time movie times. On-Demand also differs from Digital Video Recorder (DVR) service, which some cable companies offer.
