Step 1
Sign up to be an Amazon Associate. Being an associate allows you to make money on referral fees for helping sell Amazon products. With that comes the ability to create an Amazon aStore. Visit the Amazon Associates website and use either your existing Amazon account or a new one to sign up as an associate.
-
Step 2
Login to your Amazon Associates account and click on the aStore link to the left. This will lead you to the start of creating your aStore.
-
Step 3
Set your category pages. You can add multiple category pages to your aStore. Select your first category page to determine which products will appear on the category page and how they will be compiled. Add a name for your page at the top of the right-hand window. In the drop-down menu, choose how you will select products. You can choose individual products, or use a "Listmania" on which you list or select a whole Amazon.com category. Enter a description for your page and press "Save Changes" at the bottom. Add more categories if you like.
-
Step 4
Customize the color and design of your aStore. You can select a theme that will give you a starting palette of colors. You can then change the background, header, body and text colors. You also can change the fonts for all text on your store.
-
Step 5
Choose your sidebar widgets. The sidebar widgets can show information to your customers that may help them find a specific product, find similar products and find accessories for their chosen products. Pick the widgets you would like to include and choose on which side of your page you would like your sidebar to appear.
-
Step 6
Get your aStore link. This link will let you link to your aStore from your website. The link should be an aStore URL with your aStore ID at the end. You can also get code to embed your aStore directly into your website.

on 11/15/2008 I found it hard to make money from Amazon Associates by promoting them on my blogs and websites. I just came across a step-by-step video guide for setting up mini websites that promote Amazon products. The important part is advertising those mini websites. I'm still going through the course but here's more information on it:
