When the garden season begins, people use many garden supplies and equipment like rakes, trowels and lawn mowers. Be ready when garden time comes around again. Organize the garden tools so you can find the supplies next time you plan to use them.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Storage tub or bin
  • Storage rack or shed
  • Garden supplies
  • Pen and paper
  • Waterproof paint
  1. Step 1

List all garden supplies that you have. Categorize these garden supplies into items you use often and items that don't get as much use or are truly seasonal. Include items such as a lawn mower, trimmer or composter in this list. Use a word processor or have someone else type up the master list. Make a chart to include all the garden items. Print out a list to check off the garden tools as you find them or use them.

  2. Step 2

Buy a storage bin or tub for small garden supplies. Place garden tools such as garden gloves, garden trowel, seed sowing tools, weeders and garden kneepads into this storage bin.

  3. Step 3

Build a storage rack, shelf or shed for larger garden supplies that won't fit into a storage bin or tub. You could buy a storage rack or a set of sturdy wire shelves. Then organize the larger garden supplies such as a trimmer, hedge shears, loppers and the garden rake and shovel using these shelves. Use hooks on a garage or storage shed wall to hold these items.

  4. Step 4

Label the storage bin and rack. Use waterproof paint or hang a sign over the garden storage area. Clearly show this is the place for garden supplies and tools.

  5. Step 5

Put the garden supplies back into their proper areas after each use. Get into this habit to keep the garden supplies organized for the next time you use them.
