In addition to having auto, health or life insurance, it is equally important to protect your home. The Internet allows you to search for the types of homeowners insurance options that are available. Some companies allow you the convenience of buying homeowners insurance online.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Research your options on the Internet to learn about homeowners insurance. Liberty Mutual and Esurance are good sites to begin.

  2. Step 2

Select "Homeowner" as the type of quote you are looking for, followed by your ZIP code at Liberty Mutual's site. From there, you will be asked to provide your name, current occupation, phone number and the address of the property that you would like to insure. At Esurance, select your state, then click the "Homeowners Insurance" option to get your quote, then hit "Go." You will also be asked to provide your personal and property information.

  3. Step 3

Answer detailed questions about your property at Liberty Mutual, Esurance or the insurance company of your choice. You may have to give information about the number of rooms in your home, how it is constructed and whether it includes any safety features such as alarms, smoke detectors and fire extinguishers.

  4. Step 4

Evaluate your quote once you've provided all of your personal and property information. Determine whether the deductible and coverage amounts are right for you. Modify your quote if necessary to ensure that you will have enough coverage on your home and for your furniture and valuables inside.

  5. Step 5

Buy your homeowners insurance coverage if you're satisfied with the quote that is provided online. Use a credit or debit card to pay a certain amount to start the coverage. You may also be able to set up payment plans depending on the company.
