If you're attending church regularly, most likely you feel a disconnect when you listen to the content played on most radio stations. If you'd like to listen to Christian music, you're in luck. Christian contemporary music is one of the fastest growing categories of music today, available in nearly every genre. Here's a guide to finding it.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Fiddle around on the dial to find a Christian station. For example, if you're in the Cleveland area, check out 95.5 FM The FISH, which plays Christian music all the time and offers clean morning personalities for your morning drive.
Step2
Check out the Christian radio stations that are offered through cable and satellite systems. These stations broadcast commercial-free Christian music, and display the artist and song information on the screen during the entire song, something you don't always get with radio.
Step3
Go shopping at a Christian bookstore. Look in the phone book for any of the three biggest retailers in the country: Berean Christian Stores, Family Christian Stores and Lifeway Christian Stores. Or try Borders, Wal-Mart or Target, which offer Christian music sections of the most popular artists.
Step4
Attend a Christian concert. Many popular bands tour nationwide in venues as varied as large concert halls to outdoor festivals to small intimate church sanctuaries. The smaller, the better. You can meet many of the artists if you hang around afterwards as they give out autographs.
Step5
Sample a variety of artists to find out what you do and don't like. Try Casting Crowns, Steven Curtis Chapman, Caedmon's Call, Sara Groves, Jars of Clay, Third Day, SuperChick, BarlowGirl, or Fernando Ortega. These artists bring a fresh approach to Christian music.
Step6
Listen and purchase online. Christian music stations are out there, and you may happen upon an indie/folk Christian artist with talent to spare like Mandy Mann. Check out christianmusic.org or K-LOVE radio (klove.com)
