Target clothing is inexpensive, moderately durable and attractive. However, if most of your coworkers or friends shop there, it's hard to be original. The solution is simple, stick to the basics, or find distinctive pieces that still blend with your current waredrobe.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Peruse the entire women's section, which includes styles commonly labeled as "misses," "petites" and "women's." Use a shopping cart to make inital selections.

  2. Step 2

Gather simple basics to fill your waredrobe. Select items with flattering fits. Choose Brands such as Cherokee and Merona for a more mature and roomy fit. Opt for Mossimo, Isaac Mizrahi and some Merona items for a slimmer, trendier fit.

  3. Step 3

Visit the junior's section for additional basics. These items run small and slim-fitting, but are current and fashionably cut.

  4. Step 4

Watch for maternity clothes. The maternity section starts in the middle of the women's clothing section without a clear marker.

  5. Step 5

Avoid patterns, prints and obvious details on the clothes so that you don't draw attention to your Target pieces. Neutrals and basic pieces sneak their way into your wardrobe.

Tips & Warnings
  • Target only allows you to try on 6 items in the dressing room at a time. Group outfits together in sets of 6 pieces, so you can try on pants with coordinating tops.
