1
Lay out all your fire fighting gear so it's in front of you. You won't want to move around to go look for the different components to your fire gear after you've started putting it on. Laying it out keeps your gear organized and helps you put it on more efficiently.
-
2
Jump into your bunker pants. Your bunker pants and your fire boots are all connected as one large pair of pants. The best way to put them on is to jump into them and pull them up by the suspenders. There will be Velcro on the waist of your pants for you to fasten once you are in.

Put your jacket on one arm at a time. Place your Nomex over your head while you're putting your jacket on, and have it in place before you zip up your jacket. Next, zip your jacket and adjust it into the proper position.

4
Put the air mask on your face and make sure it's sitting comfortably. Pull the straps on the mask until they are secure. Swing your Nomex out from your jacket and fit it on your mask securely.

5
Swing the air tank over your shoulders and latch the waist strap.
