Whether you are making a short speech or a long presentation, you can be sure to inspire your audience if you make sure you are speaking with impact. Speaking with impact should make your audience feel empowered and positive, while viewing you as a confident and reliable source of information. Follow the steps below to ensure that you are speaking with impact.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Start your speech off with a short introduction statement that demands attention from the audience. Make it fast and powerful, saying it with enthusiasm and passion.
Step2
Remain confident during your speech. A key component of speaking with impact is to be confident. It's equally important to let your audience see just how confident you are. Don't make apologies, ask permission or discount your ideas or opinions while you are speaking. These will only make you feel and appear not confident.
Step3
Use strong words that hold a lot of visual appeal. Your words should be carefully chosen so that you are using the words that have the strongest punch. They should evoke emotions and create visual images for your audience. Avoid clichés and wish-washy language during your speech.
Step4
Invoke a sense of power in your audience. You want to make sure that you are inspiring your audience, never belittling or demeaning them in the process.
Step5
Choose positive statements that are clear and to the point. State your ideas in a positive, yet powerful, way. Choose simple language that holds positive messages.
Step6
Avoid using a passive and impersonal voice. Draw the audience in by using active language that involves yourself and includes your audience in your stories and messages you are sharing.
