Most commercial dandruff shampoos contain harsh chemicals that are effective treatments for dandruff, but also damage your hair and put your health at risk if used for long periods of time. If you are looking for a natural alternative to chemical dandruff treatments, this inexpensive apple and vinegar remedy can cure your dandruff while making your hair shiny and beautiful.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 large green apple
  • 1/2 cup of mineral water
  • 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar
  1. Step 1

Wash and slice the apple and place the pieces in a blender, leaving the peel on. Pour the water into the blender. Green apples are important part of dandruff treatment because they contain antioxidants, which will help to hydrate and nourish your scalp, and prevent dry, flaky dandruff. Green apples also contain natural hydroxy-acid complexes, which help to gently exfoliate the scalp and maintain healthy dandruff-free hair.

  2. Step 2

Add the apple cider vinegar and blend until smooth. Apple cider vinegar has the same pH as skin and can restore the natural pH balance of the scalp. This natural treatment will kill bacteria that clogs pores, allowing the natural oil to be released, eliminating the flaky scales of dandruff.

  3. Step 3

Pour the treatment over your hair, saturating it completely, and gently massage the liquid into your scalp for a few minutes. Allow the liquid to absorb into your hair and scalp for at least 30 minutes before washing and rinsing as usual. Repeat this treatment twice a week for beautiful, dandruff-free hair.

Tips & Warnings
  • Shampooing your hair in hot water can strip your scalp of its natural oils, causing dandruff. Use lukewarm water when washing your hair to relieve and prevent flaking.
  • Blow drying your hair will dry your scalp, causing dandruff. If you must blow dry, hold the dryer at least 10 inches away from your scalp.
