The Wild and Scenic Environmental Film Festival is called the festival for environmental activists, made by activists. The festival takes place over a weekend in January every year. If you want to travel to Nevada City, California, you can catch the WSEFF. Here's how.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate
Step1
Buy your plane ticket first. You will need to fly in to either the Sacramento or Reno/Tahoe International Airport. Talk to the festival director to see if they have made special arrangements with an airline to give festival attendees better ticket prices.
Step2
Reserve a rental car. No matter which airport you fly into, you will need to drive 75 minutes to get to Nevada City, CA. If you fly in to Sacramento, you can get an Amtrak train into Colfax. Unfortunately, there is no connecting transportation to carry you the 14 miles from Colfax to Nevada City.
Step3
Reserve a hotel for your stay. You can find a comprehensive list of hotels and bed and breakfasts through the Nevada City Chamber of Commerce.
Step4
Buy your tickets to the Wild and Scenic Environmental Film Festival. Tickets are available during the first Monday in December from the WSEFF website. You'll have to buy separate tickets for each day of the festival. So check the schedule before you buy.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can simplify your travel reservations by booking your rental car, airfare and hotel through a travel agent.
  • If you don't want to go through a travel agent, you can use a website like expedia.com or orbitz.com. These websites let you book your rental car, airfare and hotel at once.
