Things You'll Need:

  • Bacopin supplements
  • Chamomile tea
  • Ginkgo Biloba supplements
  1. Step 1

Alleviate anxiety by taking daily supplements of bacopin. Bacopin has been used in herbal remedies in tropical areas for centuries to treat stress disorders and has been clinically proven to help relieve anxiety and nervousness.

  2. Step 2

Drink one cup of chamomile tea at night before bed, particularly if your anxiety affects your sleep. Chamomile has natural tranquilizing effects and reduces the stress chemicals released in the brain. Chamomile tea is readily available in most grocery stores, or you can make your own tea from fresh flowers. Boil 1 cup of water and remove from heat, adding the flowers and allowing to steep for 5 minutes before straining and drinking.

  3. Step 3

Take Ginkgo Biloba supplements daily, one of the world's oldest herbal remedies. Ginkgo increases the oxygen levels in the brain, helping to promote feelings of well being, while reducing anxiety, stress and nervousness.

Tips & Warnings
  • Supplement your herbal remedies with stress reducing exercise, such as yoga, Tai Chi or Pilates to help calm the body and mind. Practicing meditation and receiving regular massage can also help reduce anxiety.

  • Because anxiety can have many causes, it is best that you speak to a naturopath about the underlying conditions of your anxiety.
  • If at any point you feel suicidal or have considered suicide, seek professional help immediately.

on 9/25/2008 Hi, very good article. I can add that Valerian root is also an excellent remedy. I've been using it for stress for years.

on 2/4/2008 I have never heard of Bacopin supplements. I will try it this week. I have just stop taking a medication for anxiety about six weeks ago. I will never take anything again other than natural supplements.
