How to Get Work Study Positions on Campus

College is expensive and even though it's an investment in your future, unless you've saved up for college, it's hard to find the money for a higher education. One way students help pay for college and college related expenses is by getting work study positions on their college campuses. Often, these positions are limited, but you can find them.

1. Talk to the office of financial aid at your college or university. First, you will want to make sure that you do qualify for work study as part of your financial aid package. Your financial aid officer will be able to help you figure out if this is the case. If you do qualify for work study positions, make sure that your financial aid officer knows that you are interested in work study so they can give you work study funds as part of your aid package.
2. Visit the office of career services at your college or university. Your career services office will have listings of available work study positions for you to browse. They will also be able to give you information on applying for positions and any necessary prerequisites.
3. Look for postings of open positions on campus. You may see fliers posted around campus advertising open work study jobs. You may want to look near the library, near the dining hall, in academic buildings and in other student common areas for these postings.
