Winsor Pilates is one of the most popular forms of Pilates. Mari Winsor has inspired a generation of Pilates enthusiasts with her Winsor Pilates DVD series. Winsor Pilates provides an excellent way to tone the core stomach muscles, lose weight, build strength and get in shape. Winsor Pilates classes are becoming more available, and with them the need for certified Pilates instructors. Here's how to become a certified Winsor Pilates instructor.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Learn Winsor Pilates by attending Winsor Pilates mat classes and/or exercising with the Winsor Pilates DVD series at home. You'll need to be doing advanced mat work before you can become a Winsor Pilates instructor. Focus on learning each mat exercise precisely--remember, you need to know it before you can teach it.

  2. Step 2

Contact local exercise clubs and Winsor Pilates studios to learn about the need for Winsor Pilates instructors. Find out if they have current openings or if the Pilates teachers need assistant Pilates instructors. Discover if there is a studio to help you in achieving your training and certification. You will most likely need to agree to work for them after training.

  3. Step 3

Locate an official Winsor Pilates instructor training course. Ask local Pilates instructors or contact Mari Winsor's Winsor Pilates company for information.

  4. Step 4

Attend the training and certification sessions as required. You will have to show your expertise on the mat--pay close attention to detail while doing the mat exercises during your certification.

  5. Step 5

Perfect your mat technique and training method, working closely with your trainer to achieve the highest skill level possible.
