Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- Application
- Internet access
- Insurance forms
- Medical history forms
- Birth certificate
Step1
Get information. Before sending your child to a Marine Corps summer camp, get some information. Check the Internet for dates and details of the upcoming summer's camp. Also gather information on fees as well as age and health requirements.
Step2
Apply for camp. Each Marine Corps summer camp requires potential campers to fill out an application. The form includes information on the child, parents and a medical history. There's also a space on the application for the camper to answer some simple questions in their own words.
Step3
Submit the forms. Along with the application, the MMA at which the summer camp is held requires remittance of a check to cover the application fee, a photo of the child, insurance forms, immunization records and a copy of the child's birth certificate. Mail them all in together.
Step4
Prepare your child. The curriculum of the camp is both physically and mentally challenging. Make sure that your child is prepared to participate in the strictly structured activities of the camp by encouraging extra physical activity in the weeks before camp starts.
Step5
Pack his stuff. Make sure you pack everything your child will need to be comfortable at summer camp. Get a list from the academy of required items that your child should bring. Label everything with your child's name to help him keep track of his supplies.
Step6
Go to camp. Your child will attend the Marine Corps summer camp for a total of four weeks. During this time, your child will be concentrating on many different types of physical and mental activities under the guidance of a retired Marine non-commissioned officer.
