How to Hand Draw a Circle Graph
A hand drawn circle graph, or pie chart, is a visual aid that can demonstrate more in a few seconds than a thousand words could ever do. Though your circle graph will look more professional if created with the computer, hand drawing a graph can make your point in the middle of a meeting, with little preparation.
Instructions

1
Make a list of the items that you wish to illustrate on the circle graph. Beside each item list the percentage of that item.
-
2
Convert each percentage into degrees by multiplying it by 3.6, which is the number you arrive at when you divide 360 (degrees in a circle) by 100 (total amount in percentage).
-
-
3
Add the total of all items to make certain that the total is at least 360 degrees. If not, recalculate the degrees for each item.
-
4
Use your protractor to draw a circle to represent the whole. Make it large enough so those viewing your circle graph can read it easily.
-
5
Divide the circle into segments using the chart that you have just created. Mark the number of degrees by drawing a line from the center to the edge. Line this with the protractor as 0 degrees. Mark the number of degrees desired and draw a line from the center.
-
6
Continue through your numbers, using the previously made line as the 0 degree beginning and measuring out the necessary number of degrees for each category.
-
7
Label each section. For further enhancement of the chart, use color coded sections to show the difference.

Tips & Warnings
If your items or statistics aren't already converted to a percentage you will need to add all the items together to get the total. Divide that total into the number of each item to get a percent.
