How to Find Other Interracial Couples

Interracial couples often feel alone or like they "stick out" in social situations. Because of these emotions, they sometimes feel the need to reach out to other interracial couples for understanding and companionship. If this situation sounds familiar, follow these steps to find other interracial couples.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Look in the newspaper classifieds if you live in a city or large metro area. You may find ads for meetings or activities for interracial couples.

  2. Step 2

Type "interracial couples" into your Internet search engine and see what you can find. Many sites are dedicated to setting up meeting groups between like-minded people, such as interracial couples.

  3. Step 3

Form a meeting group on a meetup Internet site. Use it to chat with other interracial couples all over the world or set up a meetup group in your area (see Resources below).

  4. Step 4

Ask your church or religious leader if he knows of other interracial couples in the area. If he does, ask him for an informal introduction.

  5. Step 5

Be open to meeting interracial couples of other races besides your own. They probably deal with many of the same issues as you do.

  6. Step 6

Start a conversation with other interracial couples you may see in the grocery store or other public places. Friendships can develop if you like them and have things in common.

Tips & Warnings
  • Read online articles about interracial couples and the problems they may face. This reading will make you feel less isolated. You'll realize more positives arise from interracial relationships than negatives.
