How to Display Teapots

A teapot collection should not be hidden away in a closet. You should display your teapots in a way that shows their delicate lines and beautiful patterns. Many teapots are like small works of art, and should be enjoyed for more then brewing tea. There are many ways to display your teapots that will highlight their elegant charm.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Teapots
  • Shelves
  • China cabinet or tea cart
  • China tea cup and saucer (optional)
  1. Step 1

    Group your teapot collection according to artist, color, pattern, design or material. For example, place all the teapots with rose motifs together in one area, and all the cast iron teapots in another area.

  2. Step 2

    Arrange your teapots on shelves in a pyramid shape, placing your favorite in the middle.

  3. Step 3

    Line your teapots along the tops of kitchen cabinets. Depending on the teapots in your collection, they will add country charm or Victorian elegance to your decor.

  4. Step 4

    Place your delicate porcelain, china or glass teapots in a closed curio cabinet with glass shelves and lights. This is an excellent way to show of the delicate beauty and intricate designs of many teapots.

  5. Step 5

    Display your teapot collection in an antique, or vintage, china cabinet that is from the same era as your teapots collection.

  6. Step 6

    Show off your teapot collection by placing it on an antique teacart or butler table.

  7. Step 7

    Set your teapot collection on glass shelves for a floating effect.

Tips & Warnings
  • Even if you only have one teapot to display, set a complementing teacup and saucer next to it for a beautiful look.
  • Use and enjoy the teapots in your collection.
  • It is believed that the largest private teapot collection belongs to Sonny Kaum, numbering well over 7,000 teapots.
