How to Pick Someone for a Wedding Reading
First comes the proposal, then comes the hours and hours of planning. First you pick bridesmaids and groomsmen, then you begin planning the ceremony as you pick the attendants. While planning the ceremony you need to be thinking of who you will choose to do the wedding readings. There are some simple guidelines for choosing the people that will perform the readings.

1
Choose people to be the readers at your wedding that have a special relationship with you, and who will feel relatively comfortable in front of a group. It is okay to be nervous but they should not feel terror stricken over the idea of reading in public.
-
2
Avoid asking someone who is soft spoken unless you know that the person becomes dynamic when placed in front of a microphone.

3
Keep the age of your readers to 10 and up. Kids are cute but they may be uncomfortable when the day comes and they have 200 or more eyes on them.
-
4
Ask the people who you want to read early on. Give them plenty of time to become familiar with the material they will be reading.

Have a back-up plan in case of illness or a major case of the jitters on the wedding day. This is a highly unlikely situation but it is always good to be prepared.
