A product description should include a good description of your product without boring your audience. Use a slide show to describe your product to help your audience understand more about the product. The added visuals of a slide show will emphasize the points you are trying to make about your product. Here are a few tips to help write a product description.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Look at the product as though you've never seen it before; it will keep you on the basics of your product to better reach your audience. Keep a sample handy as you prepare to write the slide show.

  2. Step 2

Choose the slides to use in the sales presentation. Place them in a logical order so it's easier for your audience to follow.

  3. Step 3

Write a brief outline to match the slides. Start with an overall product description; what the product is used for, how the product works, why the product works, any accessories that are necessary to make it work, or special considerations for the product.

  4. Step 4

Keep the parts descriptions fairly brief when writing. Use a slide to show the various parts and review them in a general way or your audience will soon become bored. Remind the audience that a more detailed description is available to them.

  5. Step 5

Write the product description using a business-like tone; avoid too much technical information unless you are presenting to the technical department. Always keep your audience in mind when writing.

  6. Step 6

Address common questions when you write the product description. Use slides to visually aid you in answering the questions.

  7. Step 7

Use new slides for each different topic in your slide presentation. For example, have a slide for the parts of your product, another slide for how the product is used and another slide showing how the product is made.

  8. Step 8

Write notes on a small card for your product description slide show. Base those notes on the slides themselves and number them so your presentation is in a logical order.
