Hit the beach. Six hundred miles of Texas boarders the Gulf of Mexico, and if you're a beach family, that's plenty of salt water fun. On Galveston Island you can go to Steward Beach Park where you'll find a playground, volleyball courts and a souvenir shop. In Corpus Christi you can walk around in the museum on the USS Lexington, or visit the Texas State Aquarium. Padre Island is developed on its two ends with parks and resorts, but the National Beach is a natural seashore where you can camp, swim or hike.
