How to Use the Tab Function in Firefox (Mac and Windows)

Tabbed browsing has become a popular way to surf many internet sites at once. Mozilla Firefox is one of the most-used internet browsers because of its tab functions. Tabs allow you to view multiple web pages in a single application window.

Instructions

Open a new tab by selecting "File" and "New Tab." You can also open a new tab by hitting Ctrl-T, right-clicking on a link, holding down the control key while clicking a link, or typing a web address into the location bar and hitting Alt-Enter. If you're using a Mac, you can also context click on a link.

Select which tabbed web page you would like to view by clicking on the associated tab. It's easy to navigate around many pages within the same application window this way. When you're finished viewing a web page, you can close the individual tab by clicking on the red X at the right corner of the tab.
