Once you have built a direct-sales team, the battle is not over. Now that you have your team built, you have to keep them motivated so that they will continue to make sales and build their own direct-sales teams. There are several ideas that you can use to keep your direct-sales team motivated.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Send them the success stories of others on a regular basis. These stories should feature the most recent team member who has achieved a financial or sales goal. Some companies have regular magazines that feature these stories but, if yours does not, you may have to track these success stories down yourself and send out your own newsletter to your team.

  2. Step 2

Host team picnics in order to strengthen and motivate the team as a whole. It is easier to succeed when you know that you have support behind you and people to share your goals, successes, and even your failures; people who understand where you are coming from. Creating a bond within your team will allow them the opportunity to build these friendships.

  3. Step 3

Meet with your direct sales team members on an individual basis. This gives you a chance to discuss their goals and determine what they are doing to achieve these goals. If they don't have clearly defined goals, you can help them create a plan and give them tips for reaching those goals.

  4. Step 4

Invite your direct sales team to seminars held by the company. Seminars are a great way to get a team member motivated and they will be more likely to attend if you invite them.
