Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Call ahead to see what you can or cannot bring. This includes flotation devices and refreshments for your toddler. Some pools are very restrictive on their flotation device policy and won't allow any, even if they are attached to your child or their swimsuit. Toddlers also drink a lot, so it is important to go somewhere where you can bring a few sippy cups or bottles containing juice or Kool-Aid.
Step2
Bring lots of sunscreen. Young children can get severe sunburns more easily and quickly than most adults. Therefore, it is important to not only lather your toddler in sunscreen often, but to purchase sunscreen that is specially made for babies' and toddlers' sensitive skin.
Step3
Check to see if the establishment has a toddler pool or section that your toddler can stand and play in, before the water gets too deep. It will be a rough day for you and your toddler if they have to either stay out of the pool or stay in your arms when they are in the pool. This is especially important if the pool doesn't allow flotation devices.
