1. Plan your trip well ahead of your Speed Week vacation. Thousands of people flock to Florida at the same time on Speed Week. Make reservations at hotels or motels and make sure the reservation is confirmed. Go online and look in the Yellow Pages for a list of hotels and motels. Look at a map to determine how far away the hotel or motel is from actual Speed Week events. If you will be driving an RV or camper, make sure your reservations are confirmed before starting your trip.
2. Visit Speed related sites like Daytona USA and the Klasix Auto Museum. While you are enjoying Speed Week, challenge yourself with a pit stop test at Acceleration Alley. Drive on the world famous 500 plus foot wide Daytona Beach in your own vehicle or rent an ATV. Visit other Florida racetracks in the same area for more Speed Week events during your trip.
3. Take some time to see this part of Florida while you're visiting for Speed Week. Volusia County and the surrounding areas abound with natural beauty.
