Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Unfreezing Your System From Deep Freeze
Step1
Acquire debugging privileges by using the Task Scheduler under the Command prompt.
Step2
Click the Start button at the bottom of your screen. Select "Run" and then find "Command", or "CMD." Enter the command "at (current time plus 2 minutes) pm or am/ interactive taskmgr.exe." Then end "Task explorer.exe."
Step3
Enter "File/ New Task" when prompted. Then enter "Explorer.exe" to launch the explorer shell under the system account that has debugging privileges.
Step4
Run Deep Freeze from the system account. Generally, this will be the account that you are on already. If the former steps do not unfreeze your system from Deep Freeze, try using a Windows Server 2003 Resource Kit and follow the next section for directions.
Using Windows Server 2003 Resource Kit
Step1
Enter "ntrights.exe." This will grant you the SeDebugPrivilege, or debugging privilege.
Step2
Type in the command "Run Deep Unfreezer." Then click on "View Status."
Step3
Click on the "Boot Thawed" button and save your status.
Step4
Restart your computer. You must log off and log back on for privileges to take effect.
