Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Greet someone with a "hi" or "hello" rather than a kiss. British people don't usually hug or kiss each other on the cheek like some of their European neighbors. Doing so may cause a Brit to be uncomfortable.
Step2
Mind your manners when you're in the United Kingdom. Manners are important in the British culture, and you don't want to come across as rude. "Please," "thank you" and "excuse me" are all expected terms. It's also important for gents to take off their hats in a building and for people to speak quietly indoors.
Step3
Drive on the left side of the road. This can take a bit of getting used to, so you may want to take advantage of public transportation. If you decide to drive yourself, be prepared for high gas prices and expensive rental cars. There are also speed surveillance cameras, so watch your speed or the police may send you a ticket in the mail.
Step4
Know the slang used in British culture. The bathroom is a loo and an elevator is a lift. If you're at a pub and you want potato chips, don't ask for chips or you will get French fries. Instead, ask for crisps.
