Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Try out Bulan Thai Vegetarian Kitchen on Melrose Ave., which offers a Thai flared vegetarian menu. Also, check out The Vegan Joint, in the Palms area, offering Vegan, Thai and American foods with their own variety of take out. In addition, there's Café Vegan, on Beverly Blvd., offering American and Thai cuisine and California Vegan located on Sunset Blvd. All of these are pretty easy on the wallet.

  2. Step 2

Put your Mexican taste buds to work by dining at Cinnamon, located on Figueroa St., offering vegetarian Mexican and international foods. It also has a juice bar offering great smoothies. Another dining option with a Mexican flair is Casa De Sousa, which is downtown on N. Main St.), offering vegetarian, some organic and is vegan friendly. It specializes in its decadent hot chocolates and sweet tamales; enjoy all of this while enjoying their dinner theatre offered on many evenings.

  3. Step 3

Enjoy a vegetarian meal with an Indian influence at Govinda's, located on Venice Blvd. in Culver City. This restaurant offers Indian and international foods buffet style with a salad bar and its lacto and vegan friendly as well. Visit Bharat Bazaar Samouse House for their vegetarian Indian restaurant in addition to their vegetarian grocery store, located on Washington Ave. in the Culver City area.

  4. Step 4

Use the restaurant guides found through looking up restaurants in the Los Angeles area and then narrow your search by choosing vegetarian as the style of food. Don't forget about the weekend guides and restaurant reviews in the local Los Angeles newspapers. These guides are also very helpful at finding information as to exact directions to the various restaurants, obtaining copies of menus, hours of operation and price ranges, so you'll know what to expect before you head out to dinner. Also, call or visit the City of Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce for information on vegetarian restaurants available to you while in Los Angeles.

  5. Step 5

Dine in any restaurant you wish in Los Angeles as this is a city that is very "vegetarian friendly." If there is a menu selection that is appealing to you, talk to the waiter or chef to ask if there is a vegetarian version of the meal. In most restaurants in Los Angeles, there will be vegetarian options offered on the menu.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you are not sure if a dish or sauce is "truly" vegetarian, ask the waiter or chef for a list of the ingredients.
