Step 1
Pick a theme. It doesn't make any sense to do any planning until you have a clear idea of what the theme will be for your Easter celebration. This can range from emphasis on the Easter bunny, the Resurrection or simply springtime. Think about where you want to decorate and how much area you will have to cover.
-
Step 2
Map out areas of the home to separate themes. If the Easter bunny is a side theme, it might be a good idea to keep those decorations in the kids' rooms or a minor room of the house. These would include Easter eggs, candy and pictures of the Easter bunny. Focus on the Resurrection might include plaques with scripture painted on or even a wooden cross with flowers around it. A table setting can be a great way to celebrate with brightly-colored dishware and cutout cookies. Potted flowers anywhere in the house will match any Easter theme as well.

Step 3
Decide how much time to dedicate to creating items for your theme. There are many websites that offer crafts, recipes and activities that will make springtime a lot of fun. Keep focused on your goals as far as time and budget available in order to keep from feeling overwhelmed.

Step 4
Organize time for specific activities. It may be important to designate time to the Resurrection as well as the Easter bunny, but the two don't go well together. Make a schedule of events if you feel some things may be forgotten. Once the schedule is made, share it with everyone involved so there are no surprises.
