The Ryder Cup has been an official competition since 1927. It pits the best of American and British professional golfers against one another. The seed of the idea for the Ryder Cup came in 1921, when amateur American and British Golfers played against each other in a series of matches in Gleneagles, Scotland. Talk then started of creating a similar event for professional golfers.

  • The Ryder Cup has been held every two years since it began, except for ten years due to World War II and in 2001 due to the terrorist attacks in the United States.
  • Only apply for the drawing once and by one method such as internet, fax or mail. If two applications have the same person's name and information on them, they are forfeit from the drawing altogether.
  • There are several different ticket options from which to choose. The International Pavilion Tickets are the most expensive at $555. Next are the Season Tickets ($435), Daily Grounds Tickets (prices vary) and Daily Samuel Ryder Club Tickets (prices vary).
  • To get a hard copy of the application form, call 1-800-PGA-GOLF or send an email to rydercupadmin@pgahq.com
